Welcoming Raymond Strandheim – Principal Penetration Tester
We’re genuinely excited and extremely happy to welcome Raymond Strandheim as our new Principal Penetration Tester at River Security. With over 18 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting and a track record of delivering high-impact penetration tests, he brings both deep technical expertise and sharp strategic insight. We look forward to what we’ll accomplish together.
“After several years of working as a penetration tester focused on ‘just-in-time’ assessments, I’m so pleased to join River Security, a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to a proactive approach to cybersecurity.
Delivering timely, relevant recommendations and alerts when potential threats arise is essential for both operational efficiency and the protection of a company’s assets. The deep expertise within the team, combined with the power of the Active Focus platform, forms a continuous security workflow that keeps clients secure, informed, and ready to act. I’m truly excited to join River Security and contribute to delivering this kind of real-time value to our customers.
It’s an honor to be part of such a top-tier team and the Offensive Security Operations Center (OSOC), providing real-time, actionable advice to our clients, and honestly, who wouldn’t want a front-row seat to adversary simulation and a license to (responsibly) exploit?”— Raymond Strandheim, Principal Penetration Tester, River Security
Before joining River, Raymond led the penetration testing services at Atea and played a key role in their national Incident Response Team. He’s been simulating real-world attacks for everything from small businesses to critical government systems, all while building tooling, training new hackers, and generally making the world a bit safer, one payload at a time.
With certifications like OSEP and OSWE, Raymond is both a technical powerhouse and a mentor at heart, and when he’s not breaking into systems (ethically, of course), he helps shape Norway’s future tech talent as a national examiner for IT apprenticeships.
Outside of work, Raymond has a creative side, he enjoys capturing the world through photography and flying drones, whether it’s stunning landscapes or dynamic urban scenes.
Raymond joined River Security just last week, but he’s someone we’ve had on our radar for a long time. With his unique skill set and attitude, we knew he’d be a perfect fit for our offensive team, and he’s already proving that he was well worth the wait
“Raymond brings exactly what we look for, depth, energy, curiosity, and just the right amount of Bergen-based mischief. He fits our hacker culture like a glove and adds serious firepower to our offensive team.”
— Chris Dale, Chief Hacking Officer, River Security
Welcome aboard, Raymond. Let’s go break some things (securely)!
