Welcoming Valdemar Andersen – Threat Intelligence Manager

We’re excited to welcome Valdemar Andersen to River Security, who joins us today as our new Threat Intelligence Manager. Valdemar comes to us from the role of Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at Experis, where he has worked closely with large and complex organizations to strengthen their security operations, incident response capabilities, and overall security architecture.

With more than four years of hands-on experience across SOC operations, incident response, threat hunting, and security engineering, Valdemar brings a rare combination of deep technical understanding and strong business insight. His background spans finance, retail, and industrial sectors, including work for some of Norway’s most demanding environments such as NBIM (Norway’s sovereign wealth fund), major retail chains, and industrial digital solutions providers.

Valdemar is a CISSP-certified professional with a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in Cybersecurity. His technical expertise includes SOC operations, detection engineering, SIEM/SOAR, threat intelligence integration, cloud security across Azure and AWS, digital forensics, malware analysis, and vulnerability management. In addition, he brings solid experience from blue team operations and security engineering, giving him a deep understanding of how defensive capabilities are designed, built, and continuously improved.

A key strength Valdemar brings to River Security is his ability to act as a bridge between technical teams and business leadership. He has extensive experience translating complex technical risks into clear, actionable decisions for management, boards, and stakeholders. Alongside his role as Threat Intelligence Manager, Valdemar also contributes within governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), supporting customers with security architecture, risk management, regulatory alignment, and audit readiness, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

Valdemar has also demonstrated strong leadership and coordination skills in high-pressure environments, where incident response, communication, and decision-making must work seamlessly together. His experience in crisis management and operational security aligns closely with River Security’s focus on preparedness, resilience, and continuous improvement.

At River Security, Valdemar will play a central role in further developing our threat intelligence capabilities, strengthening intelligence-driven security services, and ensuring that insights are effectively turned into action across both managed services and advisory engagements.
